Shougang Group Co., Ltd. Institute of Technology and Pyrolysis Technology Limited announced recently that they will jointly establish a plasma fire technology research laboratory to promote the development of energy-saving and emission-reduction technologies in the steel industry. The joint laboratory will be located in Beijing and Hong Kong.

The establishment of this laboratory has received support from relevant agencies of the Beijing government in China. Its aim is to research and develop new energy-saving and emission-reduction technologies to address the challenges of global climate change and energy shortages. This laboratory will bring together the technical expertise and talent of Shougang Group Co., Ltd. Institute of Technology and Pyrolysis Technology Limited, and will collaborate with relevant domestic and foreign research institutions to carry out joint research.

Pyrolysis Technology Limited has a unique “water vapor plasma fire technology”, which is an efficient energy-saving and emission-reduction technology. By treating water molecules with plasma, hydrogen and oxygen in the water molecules can be converted into ultra-high temperature flames. This technology not only has zero pollution and zero emissions but also can improve energy utilization efficiency and reduce the production and environmental costs of waste treatment.
